Where Were You When Apollo 11 Landed On the Moon

apollo11

Good afternoon, Where were you the night when Neil Armstrong landed on the Moon?  Maybe you were not born or too young to remember.  Me I was sitting feeding a two and a half month baby in the middle of the night. I remember it so well Stuart was sitting with me and Richard our one and only woke up for his night feed. We had set our alarm for the occassion there was no way we were going to miss it. It was fabulous to see even though the picture was very grainy but we were rooted to the screen of the black and white telly.   So here we are 40 years on Richard is 40 and we are a lot older and wiser I think. It is such a pity the the exploration of space 'The  Final Frontier 'did not continue after the Moon landings it could have been so great.  To all the astonauts on Apollo 11 congratulations on a job well done. Till next time. Love

I was still living at home with my parents then, did not meet Mike until the following year. We watched it on t.v. I cannot remember what our feelings were.

My daughter and I had a very intense conversation about Apollo 11 today. She's only 19, and doesn't believe we really landed on the moon. LOL

Have a good week.

I remember watching it on TV but I don't remember much about what I was doing. My oldest is 38 this year so it as bc...before children. I kept the newspapers and a National Geographic magazine at the time and it is still here somewhere in the attic or the basement. Yes, we really did land on the moon.

I got up to see it on TV. I was nine and a half months pregnant and willing the baby to hang on for a few more days till the astronauts were safely back on Earth! I used to love watching them coming back through the atmosphere, their parachutes open! It was just such an exciting time wasn't it, we were so lucky to have been here to watch it all! Jeannette xx

I was a little one when they landed on the moon,so I was probably on my mother's lap watching :) But I've grown up being fascinated with the story and images my whole life. Thanks for visiting me today :)
