A Day Away

 DSCN0321

Hi have not been on journals much of late other things needing attention.  Yesterday we had our weekly day away.  We had a lovely walk round Dunkeld and a good coffee one that you could call coffee and a homemade scone.  We then went to Lady Charlotte's a series of forest walks we have visited many times. We had a spot of lunch then headed off for a walk with the camera and binoculars. It is a uphill start to the walk and after about half a mile I had to call a halt as my hip was so very sore and I had lost my breath too.  This is a walk Stuart and I has dove many many times over the years but yesterday was not one of them. It is such a great place and a lovely walk up to two little lochs.  I have never felt so old and helpless as I did yesterday I don't think I will ever attempt it again it is making me feel so low. We did however have a lovely run in the car and took some great pictures according to Stuart I have not downloaded them on my PC yet will get to them when I feel better.  That's about it for today, sunny and breezy here did a bit of pruning today as it was not too warm to work outdoors.  Till next time. Love

I am sorry the walk was so hard for you. I have had that happen and it is so depressing. I do hope you feel better. Love the photo.

Sounds like a beautiful area and I do hope you post photos. I know what you mean, I cannot walk far now without getting discomfort in both hips and I just cannot work in the garden the way I used to. Getting old is very sad, our brains stay the same, we want to do things, our bodies will not respond. I can understand now why my Mum used to get down. Still at least you have the car.

I do understand what you mean by the hills bothering your hip. Mine does that too and there are hills at the campground that I will not try. Between the knees and the hip I know my age is showing. I know there are things that I will never do again too. It is a part of growing older which we try to do gracefully, but it isn't always easy. Thankfully, there are still things we can do and for that I am truly grateful as there are many who cannot do what I do that are younger. Glad you got out a bit to do the pruning. I love days that are not too hot to do abit of work outdoors. We had cooled down last weekend but now it is hot again. Take good care!

I'm so sorry about your walk but thank goodness you have some wonderful memories of previous walks. Praying you feel much better soon.

Hi Joan,

I`m sorry you didn`t manage the walk, I know how you always enjoy them. Hopefully you just weren`t feeling your best today and you will feel up to it another time. I try to make myself believe that getting older only happens to other people, I wish!

Love and Hugs

I'm sorry the walk caused you pain Joan. Maybe it was the pneumonia you had earlier this year that made you out of breath, it does take a long time to get back to health and if you aren't breathing as well as you did you're not getting so much oxygen and that will make any aches and pains worse. It's turned really autumnal here in the south now, I think the summer that never was has gone! Jeannette xx
